It's just another 'thing' created by those super-sensitive beings(called females) as a means to trouble those who're lousier at remembering stuff(called men). What's the point of having a day where you make this someone feel so special when you can just make the person feel special EVERYDAY you're with them? It also becomes a 'measuring stick' of how well-liked one is and how much one actually means to those around them. Friend A forgets to give Friend B a greeting or gift on B's birthday as opposed to the nice card from Friend C and suddenly C is promoted 3 spots above A on B's list of friends. (Irregardless of the fact that it's always been A giving encouraging words and all the help to B.)
The same goes for all those special days meant for sth special like Valentine's Day.
Why does V Day have to exist? It gives (stingy) men a GREAT excuse to ONLY give gifts to their (materialistic) other half on that one day and it adds one MORE day to a girl's PMS period in addition to the 364 days that they ALREADY are experiencing it. Shouldn't it be that one gives gifts to someone else JUST because the person is who she/he is and not because it's a day named after some guy?
To H*** with all these special days! Let there be NO MORE such days!
... Unless of course, it entitles us to a holiday, such as Labor Day... WHICH IS COMING SOON!!!
